How to make an effective backup?

There are 4 hard drives. For 6 tb, for 2tb and for another 2tb and another 320gb. All of them are on the computer. They have data on them. But the problem is that I bought a 10tb HDD for backups, and I thought that it would go via sata as usual, but it wasn’t there. He does not want to work on my computer, he checked it with others - it works. Please tell me how to correctly organize the backup of my data? It's almost 10 TB. Do not offer clouds!

How to make an effective backup?
To get started, set up backup - creating a copy, moving to storage, notifications, etc.
Then check how it works, conduct a test recovery, create a recovery plan.
Then monitor the operation of the backup, and check from time to time.

What is it expressed in? Engine won't start? Is it not detected in the hardware manager?
