What is meant by renaming a font?

I want to convert the font pt sans by reducing its size
The license says that after changing the font it cannot be named as the original.
For renaming, will it be enough to call it, for example, my_pt_sans?
The license also states that the original text of the license must be included either in the font file itself, or be attached as a separate text document. Does this default text exist in the font file? Will it be enough to put the text of the license in one folder with the font on the server?
