What is better dual(2x4=8gb) or single (4+8=12gb)?

Greetings, my question is this, there is a laptop https://www.dns-shop.ru/product/13486ad3ed341b80/1 ... dual or all the same to the built-in (as it seemed to me, because I didn’t find it when parsing it: 0 ) add 8GB to a 4GB plate, it will turn out 12 in single mode (or not?). Which option is more preferable? I also read that if you put dice of different volumes (for example, 4 and 8), they will work 4GB each in dual, and 4 will be in single, is that so? Also, there are timings, conditionally, 5-5-5-15, I found suitable bars, but they have the same 5-5-5, and at the end NOT 15, do I need to pay attention to this or are the key 5- 5-5? Killed all day, understood something, something not, I will be grateful for any help.

4+8 will work in flex mode. More precisely, it should (and how in fact - the devil knows) work in flex mode (8 GB in two-channel, 4 in single-channel, roughly speaking, there are subtleties, but we will not go into them). You can install memory of different frequencies and different timings. In this case, all memory will adjust to the slowest bar.
The laptop is weak. You will definitely not play heavy games on it. As well as working in something like Photoshop and premiere, at least not with heavy files. There is no particular sense in 12 GB instead of 8, except to admire a higher figure.
