What is a snapshot from virtualbox?

Hello. I deleted the virtual machine (vin7), but again it took to install it and preferably with the same settings as it was (inside Windows). In users/${user}/VirtualBox VMs/win7/snapshots/2018-03-22T19-05-09-735917800Z.sav
How can I recover?

Hello,
None.
Snapshots are snapshots of the states of an existing virtual machine. Needed, for example, to roll back the virtual machine to the current state. For example, we installed a virtual machine, initially set everything up and made a snapshot. Then they started throwing programs, poking around in them, this and that, as a result, they "littered" the virtual machine. In order not to re-install it, you can roll back to the current state (to the snapshot taken), then all your actions after the snapshot will be erased and you will again have the original virtual machine. But, if there is no virtual machine itself, then the remains of it in the form of snapshots, logs, etc. useless.
