What if only 2 GB of video memory is allocated?

Allocated 2 GB of memory out of 6 GB possible. In tests, I did not see a rise above 2 GB.
Acer Aspire 5 laptop,
NVIDIA GeForce mx350 graphics card

I looked at the specifications of the video card, and there is 2GB, where does 6GB come from?
