What does a college student need for an internship and job?

I have a confusing situation with my current future and direction in development. At the moment I'm doing web development (JS, Vue, SCSS, Git, Node.js), at least something that looks like it ... Now I'm reading "You don't know JavaScript", picked up a lot of new and more began to understand the work of the language competently.

But the problem for me was the search for internships and, in general, any activity aimed at gaining work experience and with little pay. The main problem is that I am a college student majoring in Information Technology and Programming and most of the seekers require a higher or incomplete higher education. I also wanted to take courses, but they say that they are a waste of money, and that it is better to study everything yourself.

I wanted to know what can be done in this situation and what things should be studied in order not to be afraid to go on an internship and complete the tasks that they can give?

I advise you to fill a portfolio for a start. If there is no place to take real projects - go to freelance, look for psd / figma layouts, what customers put up there and typeset for yourself. Without a portfolio and experience, you lose the competition.

1st on account of the fact that the majority require a tower in this direction - this is not true, some require a tower, and it doesn’t matter what profession, but the main requirement is experience, where from a year, where from 3 years.
2nd, I would advise not an internship, but freelance for a start, and then you can have an internship, then a web studio, and then the road is open to normal work.

??? Have you written anything on this stack yet?
Or
let what_to_do = "studying" == trying to understand
?

For a college student, the checklist is written here:
I want to do web development, where to start?
The main thing you need during the period of study in college is to additionally study in your free time from college the requirements of the direction of development that will be chosen. On average, the self-study period is from 1.5 years. During this time skills will develop. At the same time, you will understand whether you can develop in this direction or not.
