What do you need for SEO in 2020?

I recently took courses on SEO to expand my knowledge and skills, the courses were for 2016-2017.
What learned:

  1. Collecting the semantic core;
  2. Clustering of key queries;
  3. Internal optimization - title, description, keywords, url;
  4. Site structure, anchors, content quality;
  5. Optimization of images, headers, site loading speed;
  6. Indexing management - robots.txt, sitemap;
  7. Indexing management - nofollow/follow, cannonical, pagination;
  8. Internal linking;
  9. Search Console, promotion;
  10. CTR, snippet optimization, behavioral factors;
  11. Click length, last click, user satisfaction;
  12. External mentions and social signals;
  13. Influence of external links when promoting sites;
  14. Plan for building the link mass of the site;
  15. Classic link building methods.

The other day there was a task to start promoting one site for myself.
Also, I was told that half of what I learned (the skills are described above) is no longer needed.

Please tell me what is needed (what procedures) for SEO in 2020?
Thank you all in advance.

It is strange that you are asking the question here, and not to the one who told you that " half is no longer needed ".
Okay, since the question has been asked, I'll put in my 5 cents.
You have learned the basic principles of promotion, and without them it does not even make sense to promote the site. Whoever says the opposite is stuck in 2009, when to achieve the coveted TOP it was enough to increase the budgets for the link. Now there are also such guys and this time they are working with "gravy" and PF cheating. There will always be those who want to quickly cut the dough on the Customer.
The "base" of the works/skills you listed has been and remains, plus work with Yandex Directory and Google Business is added to it, for example, which are not directly related to SEO, but affect successful promotion in the regions.
I recommend promoting at least one project on your own, making sure for yourself which work is needed and which is not, and there will always be recommendations from the side. But no one will tell you about working chips, because this is the bread of a specialist who is earned by time, experience and money.

yes, this is an elementary base, which means half of it is not needed))) it’s like you get fucked * ali. Ask the person who told you this why he deceives you so much and why he considers you an eccentric.

In SEO, practical skills and experiments with sites are important. If you don't practice, no matter how much theory you learn, you won't get practical skills.
Therefore, you take a site and try to achieve good traffic in practice and promote it to the top search engines.
