What components to choose for the server?

I want to build a server for making money on games, Rust, WoW, Minecraft.
I still don’t quite understand what’s what, but the server should be for 200+ people. The budget is not huge, but not small. I decided on the motherboard, I still don't have a processor. I don't quite understand about the volume of operatives either. I REPEAT FOR EVERYONE: “The purpose of the server is to gain experience, knowledge. That is, problem solving, Ddos attacks, programming language of the northern part. Don't talk about rent!

It will be more profitable to rent a server. Often, the difference between renting and colocation is very small, and a large initial investment will take a very long time to recoup. In addition, a rented server can be quickly changed, if necessary, to another, more powerful or suitable one.
And about the configuration - who knows what exactly will be installed there? It's wise to start with some entry-level server, and see what becomes the bottleneck in your particular task during operation. And then it will be much easier to plan development.

Taking into account the rental price from the same ovx and hatzner, you will never beat your server by buying it

So for earnings or for self-education? If it's for making money, forget it. You will never be able to compete with rental monsters :)
If it's for self-education, then it makes sense to read Google and pick up a kit yourself. Boo server can be taken for ridiculous money.
