What characteristics do you need to look at in order to choose a monitor for programming?
I have been using the 23.8 "Samsung S24R350 for
about a year now , and before that I used to sit on old budget laptops, and therefore I thought that this monitor was just a gun, until I actually worked on a macbook, and did not notice that the same smiley face was on my monitor, it looks something like this so ... A straight line, and a couple of pixels above and below)) And then I realized why sitting at the computer began to cause physical pain to both my eyes and my head. emphasis when choosing (physically go to the store and see it live, due to some circumstances it is an extremely difficult option for me), because purely according to the characteristics, my monitor has a resolution of 1920 x 1080, 24 inches, everything seems to be ok.
Tell me what characteristics you need to look at so that the fonts are beautiful.
Please tell me what monitors you use and can advise.
P.S. if it matters, then I mainly work with code, I have minimal contact with graphics

I recommend the article It's time to update your monitor there everything is very detailed why and how.
Now I have two 4K monitors (27"). One is 4 years old already - 60hz, the second is new at 144Hz. IMHO high resolution is much more important than refresh rate; I don’t really notice the difference between 144 and 60hz at all (it is clearly there, but not very conspicuous).
