What causes YouTube to freeze?

Very often when I go to YouTube, and start scrolling video or start writing something in the search bar, it freezes for a few seconds. Everything was ok before. I haven't noticed this on other sites either. The vidyahi themselves are also viewed without problems. With what it can be connected? Is the problem hardware or software? Machine: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)

What are you sitting on? safari?
I began to notice this (I pressed the letter, it appears in the line after a couple of seconds) about a month ago. And also only on YouTube. Maybe there's something wrong with them.
