What cable is needed for FHD+?
I have a laptop (asus ux331un) that needs to be connected to an external monitor. As far as I understand, the laptop has HDMI and USB C video outputs. The monitor has only DVI and DisplayPort.
HDMI to DVI cables only give 1080p.
The HDMI-DisplayPort cable did not start at all (probably it was a defective cable, it also does not work with another PC).
USB C cable (adapter to mini DisplayPort) - DisplayPort did not start at all (there is no way to check for defects).
I'm waiting for a USB C - DisplayPort cable from China, but there is very little hope that it will work.
Question. Are there normal HDMI-DisplayPort cables that take out QHD and UHD?

There are a lot of adapters, there are a lot of cables, lousy from not working at all, to hmm, cheap, but it works great.
So about "only 1080p" it's either nubuck no longer able, or a cable, or a monitor :).
QHD is 720*960 or 1440*2560?
qHD 960 x 540
WQXGA (WQHD) (QHD) 2560 x 1440
I ordered an active HDMI-> DP adapter with USB power on Amazon.
