What are the prospects for WinCE?

Hello!
What do you think, are there any prospects for WinCE (at least for the next 5 years)?
I read about this OS here and, I must say, I was pleasantly surprised that Microsoft has an axis with such capabilities.
It is interesting to study WinCE as a hobby, try to install it on some ARMv6 router (according to Wikipedia, the Chelan version from 2011 supports it), make something like a microcomputer with Win32 API, WPF and Windows GUI.
And then I look in Chinese online stores, there are single-board microcomputers entirely on Android (I bought one of them), but WinCE, if I understand correctly, has open source for developers and has been improving for 18 years, from the date of the first release.
In general, I will be glad to receive feedback from the embedded guru and who understands this area.
Thanks a lot!

more not than there. CE technology takes its roots from the Win API, which they recently stifled in version 8 and up.
In the CE router, too, it seems to be useless. After all, its main feature is the GUI, which the router does not seem to need either (unless, of course, the router has graphic hardware, then ....). With the same success, you can adopt an android there, but there will be the same amount of sense.
Even if you attach graphic pieces of iron to the router, then outputting to them is much easier on Linux - there are a lot of descriptions and codes for this on the network.
