What are the maximum rates on Toptal?
Hello!
Who works at Toptal now, tell me - what are their maximum rates for fullstack developers now? A few years ago I heard about $35-40/hour for the Russian Federation, but in this case, upwork is more profitable for me. How realistic is it to get a project with a rate of $70/hour or more?

Regarding rates: Toptal does not dictate rates, assuming that an experienced freelancer knows his rate adequate to the market. But this question is often asked to me, and I wrote about the statistics available on the market about earnings from freelancing in general - in my personal blog. If you need to somehow navigate, read the Freelance FAQ here: what can you expect in terms of salary?
Toptal is an agency. The size of the commission, at which the agency is viable, is from 70 to 90 percent. They will try to sell a person with a rate of $70/h for 100, which means that such an employee will receive a maximum of 30. This is an option for pronounced introverts who are terrified of communicating with clients on financial topics.
On upwork.com or freelancer.com, it takes about 6 months to look around and understand the principles of work, after that a smart fullstack developer can count on a constant stream of long-term projects. Further work will be at least twice as profitable as on Toptal, and in addition to money, it will bring regular customers.
On Upwork, higher rates are possible. If you deserve it. Otherwise, you will sit on pennies.
Toptopal has stability and does not have to deal with extremely low rates. Although high is not available.
If you are not bothered by looking for a job, then upwork has always had higher Rates with good developers
what does it mean for RF? you set the rate on toptal, and it is not assigned to you from above.
where I am at the moment is my own business. whether it is an expensive country or a cheap one - the customer should not worry.
I heard about $25 a couple of years ago -- it was considered good.
