1. Maybe you should consider the option of a terminal server with a raid? Then the requirements for a server and software increase. But the client computer can be inexpensive and with Linux. And a server backup is easier to arrange than a server backup + 10 client wheelbarrows.

In this case, any modern PC from 20k ... It will work, the question is how fast and how reliably ...
And yes, AD is not needed for 10k, this is overkill. Yes, and you won’t save money for licenses
