How can this threaten users who are paid through foreign payment systems? Does this mean a complete freeze of funds?
As far as I understand, my Russian bank has a correspondent bank in the USA and disconnecting the Russian Federation from swift-a does not prevent the transfer of earned funds from Upwork or Payoneer to this correspondent bank. But swift messages to my bank will stop going, and my bank will not receive information on which account the money was transferred to (that is, they will probably fall into obscure ones).
But even if this problem resolves, my bank will not be able to send payment messages to manage funds from my correspondent bank account in the USA, respectively, my bank may refuse to spend foreign currency on me. That is, I see the risks that everything will freeze

SWIFT is all international payments.
If Russia is disconnected from SWIFT, the economy will simply collapse, and everyone will be affected.
So don't believe the rumors.
If we talk about unrealistic theories: if there are no international payments, then it will not work to transfer money to Russia. Only Payoneer or PayPal will remain. And then in a semi-legal form. And that is provided that MasterCard and Visa do not follow SWIFT. In any case, everyone will stand on their ears and look for ways around.
