As soon as you understand that you can make a WordPress site with custom design from scratch (without a ready-made theme), you can start freelancing under WordPress.

You can analyze the WP tasks that are on the upwork. Classify them and systematically study the available materials. For example, I made the first plugin, although I had never done this before. Just got an interesting problem. The second plug-in was given easier, the third without any problems at all. ))))
And I will not do the topic, because it is not interesting))). In general, IMHO, this is one of the main criteria.
