What are the benefits of HP's ILO over the same SSH connection?
Hello, the question is probably for those who are stupid in the subject, but explain, if not difficult.
Ilo allows you to remotely connect to the system console, but what is the main advantage here, unlike other remote administration solutions? Indeed, under many systems it is quite possible to deploy remote control and connect via SSH.

ssh is a connection to the OS, and iLO is essentially a remote monitor with a keyboard. If your system hangs, falls off the network, or otherwise goes into itself, you won’t get into it via ssh, but you can via iLO. Even more than that, with iLO you can connect to an empty server that does not have an operating system at all and install it remotely.
iLO is NOT a remote computer session. iLO is a local console, mouse and keyboard, as well as all computer controls (including the power button) transferred to a remote client.
As a rule, iLO is not used for work - for this it slows down a lot. Its main use is remote reboot, power on, shutdown of the server, reboot to get into the BIOS, or remote OS installation.
