What and how to format a disk partition in this situation?
There is a laptop on Windows 7.
The hard drive is divided into two sections.
One fine day, the second partition was formatted to a non-NTFS system for a linux installation.
I played with linux for a week and scored.
Now it's time to return the old file system, but I don't know how to do it.
Boot drive lost.
Thanks in advance for your help.

As I understand it, Windows 7 is still on the first volume? Why then invent something?
Doesn't Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Computer Management\Disk Management know how to format to NTFS?
Download and burn any multi-boot disc that contains the Patrition Magic program. It is very functional and easy to use. If you have access to Windows, then you can install Patrition Magic in it or use the built-in tools - Control Panel\System and Security\Disk Management. Good luck!
you can first format it in fat32, then Windows formatnet itself is already what you need, gparted live cd
will do,
but gee, as I understand it, you need to restore Windows? then yes, only a boot disk, maybe on the laptop there is an opportunity to return to the factory OS, but on the screw it is necessary that there be a partition with the installation Windows.
