Which adapter to buy

No. They are both 2.5" formats, they have a SATA interface, so they are completely interchangeable.
Sometimes it happens that the SSD is slightly smaller in height (although 2.5" HDDs also come in different heights), but this is usually not significant, because. the drive is usually attached to the board \ sled, plus the SSD is very light. In case of urgent need in such cases, you can fix it with double-sided tape or lay it with some kind of material (non-conductive and antistatic, just in case), but this is usually not required.

To replace the HDD with an SSD, you do not need anything, just unscrew the old drive and screw in the SSD.
If you really want to leave both the SSD and the HDD at the same time, then I advise you to throw out the optical drive (disk drive) and plug in an adapter for the second disk instead. Insert an SSD instead of a hard disk, and insert an old (or other new additional) hard disk through an adapter instead of a drive.

This is the only case where an adapter may be required.
Also, in this way, you can stick two SSDs or two HDDs into the laptop.
