Web designers, how does a typical order fulfillment process work?

I appeal specifically to those who, within the framework of one order, create a layout and embody it in the form of code. Interested in the following questions:
- How is the interaction with the customer? In my view, this is: to receive wishes; announce deadlines; present page previews in the form of screenshots and, if animation is involved, screen recordings; If the customer is satisfied with everything, then we give the result. How close am I to the truth, what are the nuances?
What are your lead time standards?
- Let's say the customer has an online store or an online bank. In this case, there must already be some kind of site that the designer must process, having received all logins and passwords for access, or the designer separately makes an html / php version that does not function as a store, but is a kind of template that the customer must embed on your own? In principle, is it important for a web designer to have experience with different engines or is it not entirely within his competence?
- In terms of scripts and other modules like a slider, etc., how often do you refer to existing solutions on the Internet, or do you write your versions from scratch all the time?
In principle, there are many articles on RuNet about how to design your site, but almost nowhere is there a detailed description with examples of how the process of developing a design for a customer in a professional way takes place. If there is such an article (preferably in Russian) or you can answer these questions yourself, I will be very grateful)
