I wanted to take the i7 8700. What would be with a margin for various tasks (you never know where else it will take me.)
But since the 3rd generation of ryzen will be released soon, I am tormented by doubts ...
Is it worth the wait? Or take Intel?
For some reason, internally there is more trust in Intel than in AMD.

Those. if you need a processor as fast as possible, then this is Intel, no options. If you choose something in between, then AMD is better. So there are rare applications that work better on Intel, but there are on AMD

It makes sense to take a top processor if you plan to seriously work with 3D.
But even there, vidyuha is much more important.
For almost all other tasks, a fresh pentium (for example, g5400) with integrated graphics is more than enough.
Such a system, of course, will not pull modern games, but then the question should be formulated differently (“On the basis of which processor to build a gaming PC?”).
