We want to switch to webp on the site, is it worth it?

Many new fancy programs, such as Telegram, use the webp image format (for stickers for example) which seems to be a replacement for jpg. So we have about 10,000 images on the site (and sometimes 100k), is it worth switching to webp on the site and is there any script to make it work 100% for all clients.

Costs.
Nothing prevents you from rolling back to jpeg / png as needed.
