WDS+Millions of Drivers-?
Good afternoon. A problem has appeared that I have been thinking about for a very long time, but my technical level does not yet allow me to come to a good solution to my problem. The point is this. Comes to the department of computers for repairs to reinstall Windows. And in order to somehow automate and make life easier for yourself, the Windows scan server (wds) was raised. Everything seems to be fine, the golden images are collected. All programs are worth. Users are configured via a response file. But then the question arose)) Iron is very different, and the driver has to be installed manually. So the real question is how to bring this thing to automatism. You can integrate 10 gigs (or even more) into the Install.wim image (as I understand, the drivers themselves will pick up). But how much will the final image weigh? And download all the drivers? Is it possible to somehow indicate through the answer file that vsus is on the network? Or import the key with the registry?) Yes, I’ll say right away that automatic inclusion in the domain is not suitable, since the entire enterprise has an excellent domain, from our division, and does not intersect by any miracle. Can someone tell me a wonderful method for importing drivers, so as not to install them manually. To press the button to download from the network, I came in 20-60 minutes, and there the desktop is already loaded and all the drivers are installed) (I started my journey relatively recently, so I still don’t know many things, but I will be glad if you share your knowledge . and by no means miraculously does not intersect. I wrote a powershell script to solve this problem.

if WDS is raised on server 2008 r2, then there is a "Drivers" directory in the management console of the deployment server. I installed all the drivers from the DriverPAck solution there, and when installing the WDS system, it installs the ones it needs. True, it happens that not all drivers are added to the server, or most often some driver is not installed, so you still have to check and manually install something.
