Was it worth spending time on WordPress?

I’m just starting to delve into all this (web development), I got acquainted with HTML / CSS superficially, I managed to make up a simple home page.
And here's the actual question: they invited me to a vacancy in a web studio with training, to make websites. BUT almost all work is done through WordPress. Does it make sense to spend time on "WordPress"? Will this experience be useful if I learn CSS and JS at the same time?
I'm just very afraid of becoming a person making websites for 1000 rubles.
Isn't this a road to nowhere?
Thanks in advance, sorry if this is a stupid question.

WordPress, as noted above, is just a tool. For me, WP is just an admin panel. Previously, to create an admin interface, you had to use plugins like Advanced Custom Fields. Today, a system of blocks for the editor is being developed, which, by the way, are written in React. How to draw the client side is essentially not important. You can use the classic pattern: only php. In this case, pay attention to the Sage boilerplate theme, as well as the environment for WP "Bedrock". It will be possible to install plugins and themes with it, and WP itself too.
Regarding sites for 1000 rubles, you are in vain. I do my projects exclusively on WordPress, but I also have a special project specificity, it doesn’t matter what it is, I need a convenient admin panel for content. Knowledge of WP does not affect the salary in any way, only your real knowledge in development as a whole affects.

I have an average price tag for sites on vp 1000-1500 dollars. I know projects for several million on it. But without excellent knowledge of html / css / native js and frameworks / php, as well as the ability to design in Photoshop / sketch / illustrator and hundreds of related moments, you will be making websites for 1000 rubles.
WordPress is just a tool that 90% of people don't know how to use.

WP is just a tool. Look at the site puzzle-english.com Very worthy site. There WP + React. This site is clearly worth more than 1000 rubles. Personally, I use WP in my projects because of the convenient admin panel and simple API. Look at the site https://sayes.ru , it is also on WP.
If you can make simple websites quickly on WordPress, this does not mean that you cannot make complex and expensive ones.

My friend offered to make a website on the VP (online store) for 180,000 rubles. )))
If you choose CMS, then I chose WP. And so it’s better to study PHP, and frameworks (symfony, laravel, yii2, etc.)

WordPress is a great framework, one caveat is that it is event-driven, not MVC. But you need to enter into this eventfulness.
And if you compare it with other frameworks (symfony, laravel, yii2), wordpress is a flat with a rough finish, laravel is a set of bricks.
But my choice is Worddog, and I don’t regret it at all.
And as for “I'm afraid to become a person who makes websites for 1000 rubles”, this has nothing to do with the framework, in order to sell expensive, you need to learn how to sell and negotiate.
I saw such a barn, in the form of a landing page on a visual designer, which was sold for 100 thousand rubles, and I thought that programming is far from everything.

Costs. Look at the Disney website. They definitely have no problems with money, but the site is made on Wordpress. Just open the page code and you will find it right away.
