Hello everyone, let's say I want to create a site with support for publishing articles, let's say I have a catch-up layout. Will it be easier and faster to create your own cms, or tinker with the WordPress code and adjust your layout to it?

Better pick WordPress, it's easier, it's faster. I don't know how safe you will write yours. WordPress has a lot of ready-made extensions if necessary, which in turn are also easy to pick up to the desired state. Layout accepts very easily. Even in php you will need to rewrite the minimum.

Well, depending on what you mean by your cms. writing cms from scratch in php is a risky step. but to take a framework and make an article site on it is quite easy. and yes - in the end it will come out safer than wp.

Easier, faster, and most importantly, ultimately safer (yes, I know WordPress is a "colander"):

poking around in the WordPress code and adjusting your layout to fit it

And it’s even easier to take someone else’s layout and ready-made and not tinker at all, etc. :)
