Voluntary donations and Google Maps

There is a desire to make a free service on Google Maps and attach a donation button to it, you never know, someone wants to thank. But here the question is tormented by the terms of use of maps from Google and making a profit from the site. Will donations be against the rules for using the cards? After all, as far as I know, cards cannot be used to make a profit from them.
Or I'm wrong?
