Visual ping?

Hello!
I have Ubuntu 14.04 - can't find software (widget) - visual ping. There are computers in the local network, routers, sites. I used pinginfo on Windows - it's beautiful, simple, the time of the poll is set, the poll is on the list, the green ones are available, the red ones are offline, and so on. In ubuntu I can not find a similar software. I tried Angry IP - somehow it's not clear. The list is set, everything seems to be fine, but there is no interval after which the list of resources will be polled again for availability. Serious software, such as "install, register, restart Apache, etc." - if possible, do not offer, there is not enough patience and perseverance to master this.

I used pinginfo on Windows - nice

It's a very bad practice to look for something similar to what you remember from Windows. It leads to a dead end - completely different ideologies of systems.
Sequential check of computers (ping)

There are millions of different implementations in Linux.
And then look for yourself, to your taste, what suits you.
This is the "Linux way".

It's actually easier to write your own.
A banal bash script can be written without knowledge, just without knowledge. Just Google stupid questions and find examples.

The second link (which is on Habr). Stuffing all this into a widget is also not a problem.

It is possible in Java.
Ping port 7(TCP/UDP).

Try setting up the simplest monitoring - monit
web interface. Once all the hosts for ping were brought into the config file, and then look at the red and green resources. You can also set up email notifications.

@Zoro

Then you can also recommend zabbix. You may want to set up monitoring not only by ping.

@OLQLOSH

In addition to zabbix, I also use this thing argus.tcp4me.com
Very convenient for checking the availability of hosts by ping. It also knows how to check the availability of a given port on a host. It has only a web-interface, it looks simple and clear. The site has a demo, as well as documentation on installation, configuration and use.
