/upload/iblock takes up a lot of space, what should I do?

An online store on Bitrix, quite simple, but old, which no one has touched for a long time. Recently I received an email that the disk space has been exceeded. I went to figure it out and saw that the /upload/iblock folder occupies as much as 39 gigs! Having gone through the folders, I found that most of these files are stupidly duplicates. Personally, this is the first time I've come across something like this. I googled, advised to go through a script that compares the files from the b_files table with the files from the folder and deletes the unnecessary. Alas, the script did not help. (deleted 100 files and that's all) Are there any solutions to such a disaster?

I had a project in which iblock occupied 20 GB of pictures, I downloaded them, optimized them and threw them back, I ended up with 4 GB. Maybe your pictures are not optimized too?
