Upgrade or New laptop?

Hello. In connection with the hiring, the question arose of buying a new laptop or upgrading the old one. Current laptop: Acer E1-571G
Specifications:
I5-3210M
4GB
320Gb
15'6 inches
The only thing that annoys me is the disk, which is very slow and hangs even in the browser. Diagonal 15'6 quite suits, I don't care about the weight.
And here's the actual question. Put an SSD in it, increase the RAM, remove the disk drive and put an HDD in its place, or buy a new Xiaomi Air 12.5? Why him? Money limit 35k. Characteristics: m3-7Y30, 4GB RAM, 128SSD
Main idea of use: Absorption of information from the Internet, remote connection to equipment, raising virtual machines, etc.

Your processor is normal so it's better not to touch it. Replace the RAM somewhere up to 8 gigs, and if it supports it, it's better up to 16. Buy an SSD from Samsung or Kingston for 250 or 500 gigs, and push the HDD into the drive.
Xiaomi Air 12.5 will not make sense. You can upgrade your laptop and it will perform better than the Xiaomi Air 12.5 for a lesser price.
But, if you do not need to carry it around, then you can build a conscientious PC for 25-30k, focused on running virtual machines.
