University or self-study - what to choose?

June has almost passed, which means that universities have begun to accept documents for admission.
Based on last year’s passes, I have a very good opportunity to enter NSU or St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (of those that are well known), I won’t be able to get into cooler universities in the field of IT by points, the location of the institute does not play a big role for me.
The question is addressed rather to those who recently graduated from a fairly strong university: did you receive the amount of knowledge that you are now actively using or did self-education still play a greater role in your becoming an IT specialist?
Would you choose this path now or would you enter a lower level university and develop on your own?
Thanks for the help!..

If location doesn't matter, then go to Finland, Germany, USA

Yes, you have to do it. If you change your mind, you can always score. And if you don’t act and change your mind, you will regret it all your life. There is even a proverb.

Act clearly. There are living people at the University, not just "a lot of avatars who know a lot", but specialists who teach you what they themselves do.
It all depends on your preferences. Polytech is not bad if you are interested in software engineering and related fields

A university is the base, the foundation of your career, and self-education and experience are the bricks and the mortar that binds them. One is nothing without the other. There was such an opinion.
