Tips for boosting site visits

Good afternoon friends!

I have been struggling with increasing visits to my project ( footter.com ) for several months now. Tried different things:

  • website optimization for raising in search engines and issuance
  • popularization of the VKontakte group
  • interaction with thematic sites and exchange of buttons
  • advertising in google.adwords
  • development of the project itself for its attractiveness, launches of various new modules, feedback, integration with social networks, etc.

But so far it has not brought a very large influx of people.

My project is commercial, there is no doubt about it, but I do not set myself the number one goal - getting the maximum possible profit. I would like the project to be interesting, for people to have someone to talk to, for the project to be popular in those circles that are close to such online games.

Seeing the variety of startups on Habré, how people manage to increase the number of project visits at times, I want to get your advice on this topic. Do not take it for advertising or bad taste, I just want to hear the thoughts of smart people. Thanks for your time!

Who is the author of the project? I mean, did you write it yourself, or is it “one of many” copies of some paid / free engine?
Why am I asking - if the idea and implementation are not particularly different from other similar projects, then it will hardly be possible to go to a serious level with this.

Point by point:
* site optimization for promotion in search engines and issuance - good, necessary, but unlikely to greatly affect
* popularization of the VKontakte group - so far useless, this is for your ready-made audience if you are not selling shoes
* interaction with thematic sites and button exchange - unlikely. Buying links - is it possible?
* advertising in google.adwords - yes!
* development of the project itself for its attractiveness, launches of various new modules, feedback, integration with social networks, etc. - regardless of everything else.
You would like targeted advertising on projects like ekabu.ru or Trinixi, with entertaining content. Quite often I see targeted advertising for games on mail.ru in the mail, but it's expensive there.
A good strategy in the absence of your own is to take a successful competitor and copy his steps. And watch and learn.

All the methods that you have tried are necessary and desirable (here, of course, as the means allow) to practice all at the same time.
For example, SEO is a must, for example, statistics for the most obvious request.
Social networks are just a klondike, I can immediately suggest buttons like "I like it."
Develop mobile services.
And it is very important to carefully and diligently answer all questions received from users - this is the most valuable information, the correct work with which will greatly increase user loyalty. You can try to organize something like a mailing list for users, from the series: “what else would you like to see on our site. what tricks and gadgets? ”, Yes, most users will perceive the message as spam, but those single answers that you will probably receive from an already established community of visitors will give you a good idea where to go.

Be honest and clear about your target audience, right down to the wardrobe. As I understand it, this game is primarily interesting for sports fans, who can be at least of two types - old-timers and beginners. The former most likely form the core of the above resources - it will be difficult to attract them. You can bet on the second category. As for the site, it was not possible to find out about paid services without registration. It seems to me that the visitor needs to be interested in order for him to register, and not vice versa. And yet - the inscription "open a screenshot" is, in my opinion, those little things that catch your eye, or rather cut it.

Try something like trinixy.ru, it seems to be inexpensive and crowded enough trinixy.ru/static/adv.html.

If you want to combine two points:
1. To make the search engines notice you
2. “to make the project interesting”,
then you need high-quality copyright. Lot.

You understand that with all due respect to your work, end users are absolutely indifferent to who and what the product is written on. There are projects launched many years ago - there is already a core audience there, all other users are “eaten” by sports.ru and championship.ru.
It seems to me that the niche is now oversaturated.

online game promotion needs a mega budget, the fight club train is long gone.
