The windows 8.1 control panel does not open, and the audio service does not start, how to fix it?
The control panel hangs in the state of a white window: the name of the window and its controls are there, the content does not seem to appear. In addition, in attempts to restore the system through the "system settings" it also hangs tightly. At the same time, the rest of the elements work: you can open the browser, my computer, etc. When trying to restore the system through cmd, the OS just rebooted giving something like a hard disk error and the inability to restore the system to the specified point. There are no other points. Checking the disk for errors showed nothing.
And it all started with the fact that the speaker icon with a red cross in the tray with the note "audio service is not running" suddenly appeared, an attempt to start it did not work.
The last thing that happened to the system before the next reboot was the AVG IS update.
Thanks in advance to those who answer.
UPD:
1: When trying to start the Windows Audio service from the administration panel, it gives the following: "error 0x800706cc this endpoint duplicates an existing one"
2: The problem was revealed and confirmed by the latest AVG update and its deletion of files in the repository. But since files can no longer be recovered (deleted everything related to AVG in a panic), then:
3: Do a system restore. But when you try to restore - there is an endless download. It remains to solve the problem of restoring the system without starting the system =)
