Switching from the main site to PU, in the same tab or in a new one?

Friends, your opinion on usability is interesting.
There is a main site that contains all the useful information on services, the services themselves, a description of "why we, not them", and in the header there is a navigation menu and a "control panel" button that leads to this very panel, most often the panel is different cardinally in design from the main site.

So the question is, when you click on the "control panel" button, how to make sure that the panel opens in the same tab or in a new one? How do you personally feel more comfortable?

On the one hand, this is still the same site, and therefore it is better to open it in the same tab, on the other hand, this is a different "site" with a radically different purpose.

You don't have to look far for examples, hosting, domain registrars.

It is necessary to build on what is mainly changed in the admin panel. If admins often need to switch to the main site in order, for example, to check the changes made, then open it in the next tab. If admins almost never need the main site, then open it in the same tab.
