SSD under Windows and HDD as external?
Hi all.
Advise knowledgeable people to speed up the laptop (Lenovo G50-30), I want to use an SSD drive. So this is the idea, I want to buy an 8GB or 16GB SSD - to install Windows on it and use it only for system needs, and use the HDD (which is currently standing) as an external one - is this possible at all? And how to do it right?

So this is the idea, I want to buy an 8GB or 16GB SSD - to install Windows on it and use it only for system needsFor system needs , you need a disk of at least 120GB in most cases, sometimes you need at least 240.
SSD 8/16? Do these even exist?
Of course, I met with a 32 SSD and they are not replaceable there, but those are purely office machines.
Buy a regular 120 SSD at least. And to your pocket, to connect as an external drive.
Minimum system requirements for windows 10:
"HDD: 16 GB (32 bit) or 20 GB (64 bit)
" for 8 gigabytes you won't even install Windows. On 16, install only 32 bit and that's it. Do not install any serious program anymore, you will not download the update, you will not be able to store personal files.
"Use as external" - what do you mean? Through USB?
Now in your situation, the HDD is often put as a second disk on a special sled instead of a DVD. In my opinion, this is a more interesting option. But just in case, check first if such a device works on your model.
