SSD choice: Kingston vs Intel
I choose a 120GB SATA 3 SSD for Dell 3350 and I was interested in this moment: Kingston has almost twice the write speed, but at the same time it costs 1000 hryvnia less. A natural question arises: is it worth overpaying for Intel and being content with lower speed? Is the reliability of Kingston much lower?

It is necessary to take the previous generation Intel or the crucial M4 profile forum
When choosing a computer hardware, you should not be guided by the manufacturer's official data. Especially top speed. You need to study tests on specialized sites and discussions on forums.
For example:
www.fcenter.ru/online.shtml?articles/hardware/hdd/31944
www.fcenter.ru/online.shtml?articles/hardware/hdd/31458
reliability, and because of the fact that one company has it, and it’s not a fact that it really is. In the states of Intel, the 510s are not much more expensive than Kingston, 20-30 bucks (there is more of an extra charge for the brand).
As for me, Kingston of these two is preferable. And as for reliability, how lucky, SSDs often break because of controllers, and not because of “wear and tear” of cells, take a bigger guarantee, and don’t forget to back up important data.
Do not look at the speed in the price lists. Look at thematic forums, reviews, etc.
Better than Intel or Crucial M4.
Here I have in one Intel machine of the last generation 2 pieces in the zero raid and the m4 was cruising at home. Now the question is, which one is better? Answer: I don’t see the difference :) And I suspect that if you put a new 510, then there will still be no difference. So take what is cheap, take an ordinary screw for backups for the difference and you will be happy, and that meager difference in speed is visible during everyday work (if your work is not related to the performance of screws) will not.
Thank you very much for the information! I decided to take the Kingston anyway - it turns out that this is one of the fastest horses on the market.
Ceteris paribus, from the same competitors, I chose the Plextor PX-128M2S. As far as I understand, this is the same as the Crucial M4 from another manufacturer. Crucial M4 128GB completely disappeared from the Market at the right time, and Plextor was available, moreover, at a more than attractive price.
Most importantly, Plextor has a 10-year warranty.
Installed in Macbook Pro Early 2011 - works flawlessly.
