Splitter or Switch?
Hello!
There are 2 rooms. Each of them has a PC. There is a router in the first room, both PCs are connected to it via a twisted pair cable. Through the router, a local network is configured along with the Internet, of course.
Task: add 1 more PC to the second office and add it to the network, connect the Internet.
I sketched what it should look like.
At first I wanted to hook up a splitter (2 RJ45 8P8C) to the cable that goes to the second room, but I met a note on the network that this cannot be done, you just need to take a switch (which costs more).
Unfortunately, I have not come across this, so I do not know. Help me please.
I would be grateful for any advice.

Of course the switch. You can take the simplest stupid hub (not a router) for 4 ports (you can hardly find less).
Then you need 2 splitters, on one side of the cable 2 outputs of the splitter will go to the PC, on the other side both outputs of the splitter are connected to the router. Both PCs will be connected at 100Mbps, not 1Gbps
If:
1. There is no way to purchase a switch, or throw additional. cable
2. Twisted pair 8 wires
3. 100 Mb/s is enough for you
.
Need a switch .
Splitters are the last century, both literally and figuratively! They are almost impossible to find on the market, and do not need to look.
