Launching Windows applications from the network

Greetings!

There is an idea to organize the work of domestic animals according to the following scheme: 1 server (linux), with a raid10 array, and 2-3 computers (windows7) with 120-180GB ssd drives, while some of the data and applications want to be stored on the server (music, movies, programs, steam with games, etc.). If you use a banal samba, then some software swears to run over the network, and launching with admin rights does not work :)

One of the conditions is the system's resistance to a local network break.

Has anyone faced this issue?

So far, as an option, I'm considering mounting a truecrypt partition over the network.

mount the share with network drives and either raise a domain controller or duplicate the win accounts on the samba server

Application virtualization? Something like XenApp might help you.
