Sounds like gmail phishing, but what's the point?
Received an email today on gmail from, as far as I can see, [email protected] Text:
Someone has entered <my email> as a backup email
The user [email protected] wants to use your email as a backup.
If this is not your account, someone may have entered your email address by mistake. You can remove it from this account.
And then the link "Disable address."
Somehow it is very similar to some kind of wiring, but the link leads to https://accounts.google.com/AccountDisavow, and Google does not give out similar cases.
What is the meaning of what is happening?

The user [email protected] has a backup email address. We (and you) do not know which one, but it is probably very similar to your <my mail>. This is the obvious choice.
Further not obvious reflections. Perhaps there is some kind of Google vulnerability. For example, someone somehow checks the existence of an address or your activity. It's not all about planting a malicious link and tricking the user into clicking it, it's too banal. That is, your clicking on a clean Google link or just the existence of an account may already be of some value.
Another option. It can be assumed that the calculation is that you want to get access to someone else's mail, and something has been prepared for you there. If you decide, then I do not undertake to predict how events will develop further. Maybe you find out about a secret account with a million dollars, and to get access to it, you need to pay 10 kopecks.
Obviously, someone mistakenly indicated your address as a backup for their mailbox, they wrote to you.
Turn on 2-factor authentication and never click on links contained in suspicious messages.
Check the IP address of "accounts.google.com", similar to DNS spoofing .
Tip: finished working with the account - always press "EXIT" / "Logout".
Well, I see an attempt to find out about the existence of this address. Tipo - if unsubscribed - it means alive. The scheme, of course, looks somewhat complicated, but quite "humane" - that is, if it worked - you can say with a high degree of certainty - the address is alive and it is read by a person (and not a bot).
Now I went to Google mail, and it requires you to set a backup email address. mail. Added, this address received an email
"Google
Someone has entered """ as a backup email address
User [email protected] wants to use your email address as a backup.
If this is not your account, someone may have entered your email address by mistake. You can remove it from this account. Disable address"
I have a question! Am I being naive, or if I made a mistake and added someone else's address, then the owner of this address can access mine?
