Sound not working after connecting monitor?

After buying a video card and monitor, having learned about the sound that the monitor can transmit through the video card, I decided to check it out. I connected the headphones and everything was fine, I connected the headphones back to the system unit. The next day, the sound from the system unit stopped working along with the microphone. From the headphones there was the sound of computer noise. There was sound when connected to the monitor. I tried to install the driver, all in vain. I dug into the sound settings through the control panel, set the sound to realtek by default. I also removed unnecessary checkmarks from the microphone and "speakers" settings - nothing too.
