Sony laptop "does not see" the power cable
I have a sony vaio z laptop. For some time now, he thinks that he only works from the battery, although the power cable is connected. We pull out the cable - the laptop goes out. During the first weeks, the battery charge did not decrease and this did not really bother me. Now the charge has begun to slowly fall by a couple of% per week and I do not want to wait until it drops to zero.
Has anyone encountered this? Can anything be done?

First, try booting from a LiveCD with some other distribution. This will allow you to understand whether you have a software (OS) or hardware error.
Most likely, the matter is in the power supply, it began to fail, give out less voltage, sags under load, hence the fact that the laptop does not see the cable (the voltage does not match), but it is enough for some kind of battery charging, so it works for several weeks. Check the PSU with a tester (multimeter), preferably under load, it should give out as much as it says on the sticker on it, if not, buy a new one, this often happens with the PSU.
I had the same garbage when the supply voltage was not enough or the power of the power supply, if you did not change it, then most likely something sank inside it, if it is not glued, you can try to disassemble and see.
