Broken wi-fi module on a laptop - what to do?
On the HP Pavilion 17 laptop, the wi-fi module overheats wildly, this even melted the plastic from below. When you turn on the laptop, it works for a minute, then it freezes completely, after restarting it works fine only in safe mode (without network drivers). Should I just take and change this module or completely remove it and insert an external one? Or is the problem not only in him?

Well, for starters, check to see if he's the culprit. disconnect the wires -> unscrew the screw at the top left -> take out the module. and try to start the laptop
First, clean the contacts with an eraser and connect it again. If you updated the drivers, roll everything back. Still getting hot? Feel free to buy a new one and change it. Nothing wrong with that. Moreover, pavilions dv7-6xxx at one time had two modules to choose from, one of which provided a speed three times higher than the other, and people even specifically returned laptops with the "wrong" module or changed these modules. If you have no special requirements for the network, then just take some budget contemporary. It's not worth a damn thing
