SNMP, WMI, "sharing" what are the pros and cons of monitoring disk space?

1. Do I understand correctly that SNMP is more acceptable from a security point of view (in cases where it is forbidden to share a folder on the network), while the downside is that UDP packets will load the network?
2. "sharing" can only be used if shared, which is not always acceptable.
3. WMI does not quite understand what are the advantages, for example, before SNMP, I know that the disadvantage is that it only works with Windows?

The correct way is to use SNMP. The volume of traffic during snmp-exchange is much less than for everything else - because only numbers drive. In addition - versatility - snmp was invented to monitor anything - a computer, a printer, a switch, an upsnik, a shelf. As a rule, you can limit the list of IPs from which snmp is received - so that all sorts of kakers do not scan the network.

Something I poorly understood the HARDWARE, although I re-read it three times.
What will you monitor? If something universal, then monitor via SNMP, that's what it was created for.
