The task is to select several areas on the edited picture, and darken everything else with the background.
The Snagit Editor has the tool you need, which is demonstrated at screencast.com/t/wUVPWsC186i (option 'Spotlight and Magnify', 'Select and Magnify'). In this case, only one fragment can be selected.
1. How to select several areas on an edited image?
2. Are there other similar tools (besides the heavy ones like PhotoShop, Gimp)?
