Smart home systems. Which one to choose?

I am looking for a system for arranging a smart home. I looked at ready-made integrated solutions - everything is fine except for the price, the price (2000-4000 euros). I also looked at the possibilities of home sapiens software. But so far it is difficult to say whether it is possible to do something interesting on it besides voice control.
I would like:
- programmed tasks (for example, the washing machine turns on daily)
- technical alarm (water leakage sensor)
- smart light
- remote control via smartphone / tablet
- gsm
- video viewing with the ability to record
In principle, technically literate, but not much free time . Therefore, I am ready to dig deeper, but a normal basis is needed.

Google it on demand... open source smart home... only you can figure out exactly what works best.

There are two ways to develop smart homes
The first option developed and gained popularity in America (USA), where shows and entertainment are more important to users. The second is European (Germany is more significant), where efficiency, energy saving, comfort are important, and investment attractiveness and return on investment (ROI) are important due to saving resources.
In Europe, the KNX (formerly EIB) standard has received the widest distribution, today it is already 26 years old. It is supported by about 400 manufacturers of electrical installation products, almost all European manufacturers of sockets and switches. KNX is a bus technology, that is, all devices communicate with each other via cable / wire (of course, there are also radio variations, but all the value and reliability is in the wire).
It is very important that KNX is not controlled by a central server, all devices have their own microcomputer (RAM, ROM, I/O controller, etc.). However, there are also central servers, but this is not an important part of KNX, but more for information processing and super-advanced system management.
I recommend: just look at the booklets of European manufacturers with a search by title - KNX, and you will definitely see that this is a large mass of manufacturers. This is an important advantage when choosing KNX, since you are not tied to one manufacturer and you get a wide choice in design, functionality and price.
It is often not necessary to talk about the reliability of KNX devices, since KNX devices are from the category of industrial and capital ones. We build a house, install KNX and everything works until the next overhaul.
Basically, a KNX smart home consists of two main groups of devices:
The remaining groups are already auxiliary devices: gateways and interfaces (for integration with other systems or connecting various devices), system devices, weather stations, clocks, visualization, etc. etc.
How inputs and outputs work. The outputs are basically relays (relay modules) and dimmers (dimmers) - they turn on the load (lamps, motors, etc.). Inputs are what create an event - buttons, switches, motion sensors, temperature sensors, air quality sensors, humidity sensors, etc.
KNX smart home can be extended with third-party visualization systems and logic modules. There is a very interesting OpenHAB project.
KNX is, however, very expensive and not many people can afford it. Perhaps this is from the category of elite. However, for those who need a smart home, and not deal with the element base (like with Arduino), they choose the KNX installation. Those who are fond of KNX have been building their own houses for years. Yes, and it can be a hobby.
Here is an example of how a person built a smart home for himself according to the KNX standard. It brings comfort and efficiency. For example, climate control in buildings brings significant economic benefits and lowering the temperature in a building by one degree Celsius gives 6% savings in energy costs for heating.

Recently, I was surprised to find that my beloved Ubiqiti has taken up this topic: http://www.dreamwifi.ru/MFi

Check out these Majordomo and LinuxMCE systems , the first one is for Windows (there is also a port for Linux), the second one is based on Linux. Both systems are actively developed by users. When I buy a server, I'll try to install one of them)

I, too, was looking for a Smart Home - everything was offered for Crazy Grandmas. One installer recommended INSYTE. The system works on modbus. they produce their modules and controller. I was delivered in the beginning of March in a cottage - all the iron was 230 thousand rubles. out.

If you take a good look, you will find that more than half of the Smart Home functions are show-offs. And all that is needed is to automate frequently used places and devices a little. And it will take much less money to do so. For example, the automatic inclusion of the washing machine. Why automatic? After all, before you turn on the washer, you need to put things in it manually, and since you are next to the washer, is it so hard to press the START button? Do you need automation here, if you then manually pull these things out of the machine.
Actually, I bought a timer here, a remote control for a chandelier, an automatic switch for sound and a couple for movement . I also managed to buy a switch with a SIM card from them. I turn on the electric heating of the car through it in the winter. Now they don’t have it for sale, otherwise I would have bought one more home.

Good afternoon!
Look at our system, it turns out to be quite budgetary http://domdlya.rf/
Very convenient control for those who have a standard home application http://domdlya.rf/resheniya/apple-homekit
for other smartphones, there is also control.

What is a smart home system exactly? alarm + ACS + internal control of the house? then the Ajax alarm systems , a couple of IP hickey cameras, a good central, connect everything and you will have a smart home.
