Is it possible to change the firmware for Chinese mechanics Anne Pro 2 (Obins)?
Good day.
I decided to join mechanical keyboardists, read and looked at all sorts of reviews on the Internet and realized that there is nothing better than Anne Pro 2 to start in this topic. Bought, turned on, work. OK. I ordered it on AliExpress, in a trusted store (orders / reviews at a high level), when the discounts began. Everything came ideally 23 days before St. Petersburg.
My config (where I tried to connect and configure the keyboard):
1. MacBook Pro (early 2015) with macOS X 10.14.5 installed;
2. PC with Windows 10 x64 installed (with the latest updates, litter);
Downloaded Obinslab Starter for Mac and Windows (version 1.0.11). I unpacked it, took it out of the box, connected the keyboard via the supplied USB cable. The first test was done on a MacBook.
The keyboard came to life, lit up with the default RGB backlight (with overflows). Backlight modes - switched through the combination FN2 + 9 (I studied the manual before connecting).
Also, the program immediately identified it and offered to change the firmware (from the box it was 1.12.6) to the latest one (1.12.8). Agreed, reflashed and ... that's it, the backlight is cut off and does not turn on anymore! It doesn’t respond to the FN2 + 9 combination :( I
thought that the firmware might have demolished the default modes and you just need to save these presets on the keyboard again. I went to the Light Group settings, selected the Default preset , selected the Cyan mode in the Light List and clicked on Preview- everything works fine, Anne Pro 2 lit up in the selected backlight preset.
Moreover, the backlight intensity adjustment works normally (FN2 + 0, FN2 + minus, FN2 + plus).
Exactly the same behavior on PC Windows 10 x64.
In short, the complete feeling that the Obinslab Starter program just reset the settings and did nothing, after which it hung and cut off the keyboard from the USB :(
