Slows down Mac OS High Sierra on WM Workstation, will the upgrade help?

There is a laptop Acer Aspire 5, i5-7200U 2 * 2.5, intel HD620, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD.
Installed Windows10, it has a virtual machine with Mac Os High Sierra 14.0
At the same time constantly running:
-in the main system: Chrome (3-4 windows, with a total number of tabs from 50 to 200), Hip chat, Git Extension, phpStorm, terminal 3- 4 windows.
-in macOS: Xcode, appium, terminal, iPhone simulator.

The virtual machine is allocated 6 GB of memory. There are swap files.
At the same time, using a virtual machine is uncomfortable, both applications in the main system and the appium inspector and the simulator in the macos slow down (not that they slow down, but seem to “freeze” when the appium interacts with the simulator for very long periods of time).

In the task manager, I see that when the virtual machine is running, the memory is constantly critically (closer to 100%) loaded, the processor is loaded approximately 85%.

Question: Will expanding the memory to 12 GB help? (maximum possible volume).
Or is it time to buy a laptop with a more powerful processor and more memory expansion options? (which I would not like, since this laptop is not yet a year old)
Maybe there are some tricks in optimizing the operation of the virtual machine?
