Should I take rMBP 15 now or wait until autumn?
I ran into the performance of MBA 2011 4Gb RAM / 128 SSD - and there is not enough built-in space and back-to-back memory, you can’t play normally in SC2)
I want to take Retina Macbook Pro ME665 (early 2013) - 2.7 Ghz, 16 Gb RAM, 512 Gb SSD.
In principle, at the moment, I do not need more.
However, as always, firmware updates for Haswell, and most likely for new GPUs, are just around the corner.
Because a similar laptop is bought for at least 2 years, doubts torment whether to be patient with the current air, and then take an already updated model?
I heard that the performance has not increased much, in comparison with Ivy Bridge, power consumption is not critical for me, because. most of the time I use it stationary with an external Thunderbolt display.

Every year something new and “tasty” comes out, so you can wait forever :)
Judging by the new Air, we can say that the new MacBook Pro Retina will definitely have wi-fi 802.11ac and noticeably faster ssds. If any of this (plus increased battery life) is important to you, then wait. I think that a 15-inch laptop can be taken now. And in the case of 13, I would wait - I don’t hope to add discrete graphics, but the integrated graphics in Haswell are more powerful than Ivy Bridge.
I did not wait, I took rMBP 13 Retina (early 2013) right after the recent WWDC, I was waiting for new ones to be announced on it. With retina pros, you need to pay attention to the display manufacturer, LG matrices have a “feature” - sometimes “ghosts” appear, google according to retina ghost issue. Samsung matrices do not have this.
Yes that's right. Haswell will be cooler. But looking at the new air, there are thoughts that the CPU frequency will be less, but the type is still “more”. The first batches will have a horse price tag, but the price tag will fall on the old retinas. And I’ll be able to buy a new one, I think, only by January.
Here it is still worth deciding whether you want a MacBook or a high-performance GPU.
As I understand it, you only have Starcraft, it does not require GPU performance. So if I were you, I would just buy a new mbp now.
I would wait. Without any serious arguments there. It’s not long to wait, the probability of updating the line is 99.99% (as it seems to me), and your need for a new one is not critical (critical is when you have a laptop the only tool for your main work and the old one is completely out of order). Against inflated prices at the time of the start of sales, I hope the recently opened Apple Online Store will help.
