Should I choose internet of things android as a thesis topic?

I would like to take on the topic of the thesis "internet of things android". I myself am developing for this platform and it would be interesting to work in the field of IoT.
The problem is that I don't know what sensors exist and how IoT android currently works. Are all types of boards installed ...
And in general, is it worth choosing such a topic, in which areas can it be used besides "smart home", "smart iron", etc.?

I recently read about it. I can only suggest areas:
- Product scanner (For example: you buy a product in a store, scan through your phone, and your application has information about this product. So you can put some kind of reminder with a list of goods for purchase. Or issue an alert that a particular product will soon expire)
- Smart light (For example: if you put sensors on the light and determine the brightness of the light in the room, you can flexibly adjust the light in the room, something at the level of auto-brightness of the display on the phone)
