Should authentication logs remain in the controller domain?

Good afternoon,
I have:
a server on windows 2012 (Domain Controller), Windows 7 (client), server 2008 (application server)
an employee accesses a web page on server 2008, logs of failed authentication do not appear on the controller domain, why?
