How to bind a certificate to iis?

I need to issue and bind a certificate for a site on iis(SRV1). The feature "certificate center" is only on the iis domain controller (DC1), but on a separate iis server (SRV1) it is not there, should it be? I created certificates through the web-face of the CA, downloaded the certificate from there and added the certificate via mmc to the server with iis (SRV1), but for some reason it is not there when binding to the domain. What to do and where to dig?
